Deadline reports that former New Regency co-chairman Hutch Parker has reached a deal with 20th Century Fox to produce Hugh Jackman’s THE WOLVERINE along with Lauren Shuler Donner. Parker is no stranger to the X-MEN film franchise, having served as President of Twentieth Century Fox Film Corporation since January 2005. He joined the studio in 1995 as Senior Vice President for Production and served as its President of Production in 1999.

Releasing July 26, 2013, the James Mangold-directed film will follow Wolverine as he treks Japan and falls in love with a woman whose hand is already promised to another. When he doesn’t back down, her powerful crimelord father summons the Silver Samurai and other deadly threats in the X-Men universe to push his healing-factor to the limit.
