ComicBook.com caught up with DEADPOOL star Ryan Reynolds who talked about interest in doing an X-FORCE movie. if you didn’t know, there’s already a screenplay by writer/ director Jeff Wadlow, which features the ‘merc with a mouth’ appearing alongside the mutant Cable and his team of mutants.
“I always see Deadpool running against the grain for everything he does. He can’t possibly conform to any sort of leadership role,” he says of Deadpool leading a team. “He always has to be the wild card. So you’d have to have someone like Cable running point on a team like X-Force. I’d love for that to be a next step that we take.”
There’s also a NEW MUTANTS movie in development with Josh Boone, which precludes X-Force in the comic books so the possibilities are endless.
With little time left for Hugh Jackman, as he hangs up his claws in 2017 for the final WOLVERINE, Reynolds said it’d be great. “I mean who wouldn’t want to spend more time with Wolverine? Hugh and I have such history together. I can’t imagine it’d ever happen in a stand-alone film, but if there was the right place and right time – wouldn’t it be great?”
