Rumored plot details emerge for Hugh Jackman’s final film as Wolverine.

The Wrap scooper Umberto Gonzalez has revealed new details about director James Mangold’s LOGAN – the third and final film in Hugh Jackman’s long-awaited “Wolverine” saga.

Some tidbits:

  • It takes place in the year 2024.
  • The film is dark and violent.
  • Logan’s powers are fading.
  • Logan drives a futuristic Chrysler 300 limo.
  • Professor X is old, not well and has unstable powers.
  • Stephen Merchant allegedly plays “Albino mutant Caliban,” who helps Logan take care of Professor X

…it should be noted that Tómas Lemarquis played Caliban in X-MEN: APOCALYPSE, so it’ll be interesting to see if this is an older version or an entirely new version of the character. Maybe a misdirection?

Basic Plot:

“In 2024, mutant births are severely in decline, and people aren’t sure why. We find out about a government-type operation called “Transigen” that is turning mutant children into killing machines. Logan ends up mentoring the girl, who has two claws instead of his three.”

That’s basically a direct description of Laura Kinney aka X-23, who is Wolverine’s clone and successor.

The film comes to theaters in just 5 short months on March 3, 2017!

    • The Caliban part seems really weird. Why use him again in this type of role over all other characters at their disposal? We’ll see…
