Director Bryan Singer<\/strong> announced<\/a> that rising actress Olivia Munn<\/strong> has won the role of Psylocke<\/a> in X-MEN: APOCALYPSE<\/a>.<\/p>\n

“Excited to welcome Olivia Munn as Betsy Braddock!”<\/p>\n

The fan-favorite character debuted in Marvel Comics\u2019 Captain Britain #8 in 1976 and joined the X-Men in New Mutants Annual #2 in 1986. Her real is name Betsy Braddock and she\u2019s a highly-trained fighter who carries the mutant abilities of precognition, telepathy, telekinesis and the ability to wield a psychic katana and knife.<\/p>\n

Munn has been winning roles in the films such as “Iron Man 2,” “Magic Mike” and “Mortdecai” after starting out as a television show host for six years on G4’s Attack of the Show!<\/p>\n

She will join pre-existing X-Men cast members, along with newcomers Oscar Isaac as Apocalypse, Sophie Turner as Jean Grey, Tye Sheridan as Cyclops, Alexandra Shipp as Storm, Kodi Smit-McPhee as Nightcrawler and Lana Condor as Jubilee.<\/p>\n

Production begins in a matter of weeks for a May 27, 2016 theatrical release.<\/p>\n
