With Channing Tatum<\/strong> officially signed to portray Remy LeBeau in Rupert Wyatt’s GAMBIT<\/a>, the search is on for the film’s supporting female lead…Bella Donna Boudreaux<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Deadline<\/a> and Entertainment Weekly<\/a> report that three actresses are said to be on the shortlist for the role, which include Rebecca Ferguson<\/a><\/strong> (Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation), Lea Seydoux<\/a><\/strong> (Spectre, Blue is the Warmest Color) and Abbey Lee<\/a><\/strong> (Mad Max: Fury Road).<\/p>\n

Bella Donna is an important role in Gambit’s story, a character who grew up with LeBeau in New Orlaens as member of a rival thieve guilds. The two were arranged to be married in order to ease tensions, but were separated after her brother challenged Gambit to a duel to the death. She’s a mutant herself and can astrally project herself and fire off blasts of plasma.<\/p>\n

Filming begins in Louisiana on October 13th and continues through February 12th of next year for theatrical release on October 7, 2016. It will have an estimated total budget of $154.9 million.<\/p>\n

Update:<\/strong> Deadline<\/a> reports that Ferguson has taken herself out of the running.<\/p>\n
