X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST<\/a> presented fans with a new form of time travel, in which Kitty Pryde uses her powers to “phase” others through time, sending their conciousness back into the body of their younger selves. For director Bryan Singer<\/strong>, a major factor in understanding the concept behind time travel came through collaborations with “The Terminator” helmer James Cameron<\/strong>.<\/p>\n While on the Montreal set for this year’s X-MEN: APOCALYPSE<\/a>, Singer gave Superhero Hype<\/a> some insight into how their collaboration worked and how the film’s ending almost became very different in tone.<\/p>\n “Originally my editor [John Ottman] was obsessed with this visual blurriness,\u201d Singer revealed. \u201cSo when Wolverine is walking around he\u2019s seeing things in kind of a blurriness. So I sent that to Jim and Jim called me up and goes \u2018Bryan, that blurry thing made me think that the wool was going to be pulled out from under me and I was not satisfied. I thought it was going to be a lie and it had failed and it would all be dark, and then suddenly it was okay.\u2019 It was the only note Jim gave me. He said \u2018Oh I love the movie, it\u2019s going to be great,\u2019 but he said \u2018Let the audience enjoy the fact that it all turned out okay\u2026 in that future.\u2019\u201d So I pulled the effect off and my editor was like \u2018Oh I like it, it\u2019s so cool and weird!\u2019 and I\u2019m like \u2018Shut up, it\u2019s coming off!'”<\/p>\n Singer then revealed that the version Cameron saw didn\u2019t include the three surprise cameos as seen in the theatrical cut.<\/p>\n \u201cI explained that to Jim and I said \u2018By the way, it didnt have these three cameos\u2019 and he goes \u201cOH Why didn\u2019t you tell me that? That makes a big difference dude in letting me enjoy the ending of the g***amn f***ing movie!\u2019 and I\u2019m like \u2018Sorry, I\u2019m keeping that so secret I didn\u2019t even want to let that go to New Zealand.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n Are you satisfied with the film’s ending?
