So we definitely slot into a timeline, but as of yet, we’re not allied. I think they have given themselves a lot of leeway in order to be able to go places, but we’ve enough story within our universe to propel us forward without having to do that.”

Producers have previously said the show, including FX’s LEGION series, won’t affect the films or vice versa. They want them to stand on their own feet before even thinking of making direct connections, if any.

“Within the X-Men Films, we’re sort of not allied to them or positioned within that. There are obviously mutant characters that have a place in the comic books. Some of them are different, some of them are sort of related in some way.”

The show will follow a suburban couple’s ordinary lives as they are rocked by the sudden discovery that their children possess mutant powers. Forced to go on the run from a hostile government, the family joins up with an underground network of mutants and must fight to survive.

“The Gifted” begins Monday, October 2 at 9pm (8c) on Fox.

Thanks to Comic Book for the heads up!

Follow XMTV on Twitter: @XMenTVShows

THE GIFTED star Stephen Moyer recently talked about FOX’s upcoming series based in the X-Men…

"_jetpack_memberships_contains_paywalled_content":false
_jetpack_memberships_contains_paid_content":false
[15,80,37

post-44311","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-crew-talk","category-untitled-fox-show","category-tv-series
["GET
