His portrayal was met with praise from fans and critics alike; sadly his character wasn&#8217;t explored further in <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/x-menfilms.com\/?page_id=468\">THE WOLVERINE<\/a><\/strong> and <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/x-menfilms.com\/?page_id=22651\">LOGAN<\/a><\/strong>. Speaking of the <strong>James Mangold<\/strong> final, Schreiber explained (transcribed via <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/movieweb.com\/liev-schreiber-logan-sabretooth-what-happened\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">MovieWeb<\/a><\/strong>) why he wasn&#8217;t part of that film.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed aligncenter is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<span class=\"embed-youtube\" style=\"text-align:center; display: block;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"youtube-player\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/F3z74bGo28I?version=3&#038;rel=1&#038;showsearch=0&#038;showinfo=1&#038;iv_load_policy=1&#038;fs=1&#038;hl=en-US&#038;autohide=2&#038;wmode=transparent\" allowfullscreen=\"true\" style=\"border:0;\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts allow-same-origin allow-popups allow-presentation allow-popups-to-escape-sandbox\"><\/iframe><\/span>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;They didn&#8217;t ask me [to return]. No, I mean, I don&#8217;t think he was part of that story. You know? He wasn&#8217;t part of that story. I would have loved to bring Victor back, anytime, anywhere. But, it wasn&#8217;t part of that narrative. I wonder if I&#8217;m getting a little long in the tooth, so to speak, but probably not for Sabretooth.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify wp-block-paragraph\">Explaining his method for bringing the popular character to life, Schreiber described his process for getting into the mindset of Logan&#8217;s longtime antagonist.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;[I was] trying to understand why Sabretooth is always coming after Wolverine. It&#8217;s like, &#8216;Why is he always coming at him?&#8217; And for me, it made sense when these guys were pitching to me that they were related. That they were two sides of the same coin. I always loved that narrative arc from the comics that Sabretooth just shows up on his birthday every year to whoop his ass. I just thought, &#8216;You can put that anywhere.'&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify wp-block-paragraph\">So what&#8217;s stopping Schreiber from appearing as Creed in <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/x-menfilms.com\/?page_id=57464\">DEADPOOL 3<\/a><\/strong>?
