Deadpool co-creator Rob Liefeld confirmed a longtime rumor that Brad Pitt was originally looked at to portray Cable in DEADPOOL 2. “I know for 100% fact that was true,” he told That Collectibles Show on ComicBook.com. “They did previews, and [director] David Leitch had a very special relationship doing stunt work with [Pitt]. What people don’t know is that was very early, early on. So when they knew they weren’t going in that direction, they went down several others.”

Pitt would later appear</s> in the film for a split second cameo as Vanisher.

Liefeld then revealed that it was actually Josh Brolin‘s wife who pushed the Thanos actor to go after the role, which he famously landed. Brolin received positive praise for his portrayal of the popular mutant character. Many fans wonder if there are plans for him to return in DEADPOOL 3 or future films under Marvel Studios.
