Producer Bryan Singer confirmed to IGN that the X-MEN: FIRST CLASS sequel will go by the title X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST. He hints at time traveling elements and expanding the universe, with chances of connectivity to the original triloy.
“I can say that it’s being written right now, and it will start shooting in a few months. It’s going to be very ambitious. It’s called ‘Days of Future Past’ and it deals with aspects of that comic, but also some very new things. I don’t want to give any of it away. Matthew Vaughn will be directing and I’m totally excited about it.”
“I think there’s strong desire to broaden out the universe. I mean, the ‘X-Men’ universe is every bit on its own as big as the Marvel universe. I think it’s time to reach out and explore it and perhaps even bring some connectivity between the films as Marvel has done so well. You may see some of that.”

Damn it… too bad. I am not a fan of time travel… the X-films have been rooted in credibility… except for the mutations, their world was credible.
And now that… I just wish they used that Kennedy shooting as a starting point and left out the unnecessary Sci-Fi aspect of time traveling… 🙁

I just watched the interview… they did not mention timetravel per se… so… there is still hope, they root it in credibility, just as they did with the Phoenix instead of that alien crap they had in the comics.

This excites me to see some of the old cast again! this would be a great blast for the x-men films.
It means that there is a chance the events of the movie will erase the events of Last Stand, and we can see the original cast of actors in the X-Men movies. They once said there would be an X-Men 4, this might be the way to that. and Byran is a great director.

I’m sorry :xavierstorma I so disagree with you. The X-MEN movies need to expand there universe and this is gonna be an awesome way to do that. The movies need to stay more true to the comics in my opinion. X3 was so messed up with what they did to the phoenix story line.
