Longtime ‘X-Men’ costume designer joins ‘Days Of Future Past’

Update: No leather suits, according to Singer (see below).

X -MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST director Bryan Singer has hired longtime costume designer, Louise Mingenbach for the film. Mingenbach is no stranger to the X-universe, having worked on “X-Men,” “X2” and “X-Men Origins: Wolverine.”

She designed the somewhat controversial black leather uniforms that deviated from the comics; Singer has already gone on record saying there will be “no leather suits.” DOFP will present new challenges, as she’ll have to design looks for mutants from multiple time periods and timelines.

Singer has been in full-swing on pre-production, recently completing scouting in Montreal and working hard on the epic screenplay by Simon Kinberg and himself. Filming begins next year for a July 18, 2014 release.
