X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST director, Bryan Singer has tweeted this first look at Halle Berry in her new Storm costume! The suit – which does a fine job hiding Berry’s baby bump – features a rougher, more utilitarian style compared to the previous “X-Men” films. This time, Storm has close-cropped haircut, similar to Berry’s own style.

I think they did that on purpose.. we still have no idea the flow of the story.. maybe costumes like this were really meant to be look old, let’s just say they use this costume when they get arrive in the past timeline..

I like it! I think it’s gonna turn out looking very cool. It should look kinda worn and tattered if this is taking place in a Sentinel ruled future. I also like the leather tights apposed to the leather pant she wore in the X-MEN movies. I had a feeling the hair would be short for this movie.
Do you think there will be more than one look? Like one of them looking all raggedy in a dysoptian future and then one once it’s fixed and what not.

I usually LOVE short hair on women, but I agree with some of the initial fan responses; Storm looks old. This is because we often see this exact cut and colour in real life on fashionable older women, including DOFP head designer Louise Mingenbach. Halle is thin and gorgeous, but personally I find the outfit unflattering to her curves.

Widening and lengthening the V-neck would make her look less uptight, and it’d also break up her torso shape away from a black rectangle.
A heavy mini-cape does not flow as menacingly as a pleated coloured cape made in a large organic shape -> Think Thor or evening gowns. Grey (to match the hair) or gold might suit her well. If she’ll be raising her arm to this angle when she casts her power, she’ll need more pleats to add movement from the wind. Even remaking the same cape in a different colour would look more interesting.
Most importantly, more colours please. A block of dark silhouettes when multiple mutants share the screen looks bland. In the XMFC image, the X-Men pops out, but in the other photo, the carpet stands out.

I kinda not sure about liking it. But this might be her costume on one of the timelines, it looks ruggish and punk. This might be here costume during the Sentinels era. We will see, I still wanna see great Storm costume though 😉

I love it very Age of Apocalypse. Also it fits considering the X-Men has been told to have disbanded during or before the new Wolverine film and they are facing off against Sentinels so I could understand for the short hair considering if Halle’s stunt double is going to be doing some flying action sequences it would be hard to control all that hair lol. Disappointed by the no Mohawk appearance but i am sure the film will be great no matter what. Keep bringing more and more pics Bryan. Next Rogue’s new look.

I think the X-Men Movie costumes will be better then the crap fest costume worn in the new Spider-Man Film.
the new Spider-man costume was great.. they really change it to a brand new design.. I hope they did that too in X-men..
