Yahoo! Movies — Despite a lack in updates, Ryan Reynolds reveals that DEADPOOL isn’t totally dead in the water. The film – in development since “X-Men Origins: Wolverine” – recently gained a small bit of movement.
“[In] its current iteration the movieโs actually very small,โ Reynolds revealed whilst doing press for animated snail story โTurboโ. โThereโs minimal impact to the studio, which is the way weโre kind of presenting it to them. Weโre saying โLook, the budget is minimal. Therefore, can we do this the way it should be done?โ Which unfortunately needs a Rated R [age certificate] or it needs those elements.”
โThe script is probably available online, it leaked,โ he added. โBut itโs very meta, I mean the character knows heโs in a movie, he knows heโs in a comic book. He names studio executives in the script. So, itโs kind of a risky property. But, you know, weโll see. It’s actually, within the last couple of weeks, taken a few very, very small tiptoes forward. In our lifetime? Yeah, I think so. I think if I were a betting man itโll get made, eventually. I mean itโs just been developed to high heaven. It has great people around it, so weโll see.”
I’d like to first see Deadpool in X-FORCE and then go solo.
after he just starred in another box office flop called RIPP this past summer with Jeff Bridges, It sounds more and more like the studio is saying to Reynolds; “Don’t call us and we will not call you.”
