Channing Tatum is “dying” to play GAMBIT but it’s not a done deal yet.

Though word came last week from producer Lauren Shuler Donner that Channing Tatum had signed on to play Gambit in X-MEN: APOCALYPSE and a developing solo film, the actor confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter that while he’s “dying to do it,” he’s still not 100% signed on the dotted line.

“I hope to be joining — everything’s not done yet,” says Tatum. “I’ve obviously been in talks, and we’re on the one yard line,” he added. “I’m always afraid of being like, ‘Yes it’s totally happening’ and then it doesn’t happen. I’m dying to do it.”
