Arvin Bautista over at Greasy Pig Studios gave XMF a heads up towards a DAZZLER music video that he directed. Titled “The Sight of the Sound,” the film stars Gentry Roth as Alison Blaire aka Dazzler. The character had a “dramatic debut” in Marvel Comics “Uncanny X-Men” #130. Some fans have expressed interest in seeing her appear in X-MEN: APOCALYPSE due to its 1983 setting.
Dazzler has the ability to convert sound vibrations into light and energy beams. She was originally developed as a cross-promotional, multi-media creation between Casablanca Records and Marvel Comics until the tie-ins were dropped in 1980. Since her first appearance, she’s been a major player in many of the comics over the years. The character was created by Tom DeFalco, John Romita, Jr., Louise Simonson and Roger Stern.
Bryan Singer once joked about Lady GaGa playing Dazzler on April Fools.
I can finally announce @ladygaga is joining #XMen #DaysofFuturePast as Dazzler. One of my all-time favorite characters. Can't wait!
