Huffington Post Live caught up with actor James McAvoy, who returns to the role of Charles Xavier in Sumer 2016’s X-MEN: APOCALYPSE. Since the eighth film in the mutant franchise is set in 1983, many wonder when/if McAvoy is going to go bald to match the look of Patrick Stewart’s Xavier in the future. THE LAST STAND showed Xavier bald in 1986, but thanks to the results of DAYS OF FUTURE PAST, the series can go in any direction. Still, it looks like we might see McAvoy lose his hair sooner rather than later.
“I’ll be older in this one,” he said. “I think I’m losing my hair finally. And, yeah, that’s kind of all I know. I got an email from the [producer/writer Simon Kinberg] who informed me he was getting dead excited about stuff, but he didn’t want to divulge anything for a couple of weeks, so I really don’t know.”
McAvoy added that he expects the film to have a “fairly apocalyptic” feel to match the villain and name of the story. “It seems fairly global, if we’re talking apocalypse,” he hinted.
