In a not-so surprising revelation, actress Jennifer Lawrence tells MTV that her time as Mystique will end after she fulfills her contractual commitments with X-MEN: APOCALYPSE.
“It is my last one, yes.” she says in the video below (starting at 3:25 mark).
Not shocking, considering she’s in high demand for multiple projects. Rumors swirled last year that the Lawrence, along with then-boyfriend Nicholas Hoult, were eager to get out of their contracts because it limited what they could do outside of the mutant franchise. Hoult just recently contradicted this, saying “I have a good time playing [Beast], so I’d keep making them.”
James McAvoy (Professor X) and Michael Fassbender (Magneto) are other actors who signed three-picture deals, beginning with 2011’s X-MEN: FIRST CLASS. They have yet to comment on their future commitments, if any.
Production on ‘Apocalypse’ begins this April for a May 27, 2016 theatrical release.
Will you be sad to see Lawrence’s Mystique go?
One of the most exciting acting talents of the current generation, it’s a real shame to lose her. But she needs to do what’s best for her.
