DEADPOOL held Vancouver’s Georgia Viaduct hostage Monday morning to film an action sequence with star Ryan Reynolds. The scene involves the “merc with a mouth” doing battle with gunmen in a flipped over SUV, with simulated gunfire and explosions surrounding the craziness. It’s one of the production’s most expensive scenes to film, with crew working during daytime hours through April 16.
The production is expected to film in Vancouver until May 28. It will bring more than $38 million to the local economy and employ more than 1,100 people.
Thanks to Vancity Buzz, @Pursuit23 and Globe and Mail for the details and photos.
Thanks again to the city of Vancouver for allowing us to make #deadpool here at home. Particularly commuters affected by the viaduct closure
