X-Men film franchise producer Lauren Shuler Donner told Empire Magazine that X-MEN 4 is in ‘active development at Fox.’ “We took the treatment to Fox and they love it… And X4 leads into X5.” she said.
On the upcoming DEADPOOL film she says that it will be “a total reboot. We’re either going to pretend that didn’t happen, or mock it, which he could do. We’re looking for a director, yes. He’s very involved, Ryan. He’s working with the writers on the screenplay and it is as much as it is ours.”
Donner also describes Hugh Jackman’s THE WOLVERINE as an action-packed film, saying the film “will have depth and a dramatic backbone. And yet there’s more action in this one than in any one we’ve ever done. It’s such a good script. We have the great Christopher McQuarrie writing and it’s very true to the Japanese saga. This is Logan on his own…”

it should be more character oriented, the problem of the latest movies was that there wasnt good character developtment, both XO: Wolverine and X3.
FINALLY XMEN4!! I’ve been waiting to hear good news about that for what.. 5 years now!?!? This made my day/week!! (I’ll wait till it’s more official before I go any more dramatic :p )

I mean, it was clearly established that nothing could happen after X3, no ? Rogue, Magneto, mystique depowered, prof X dead, Cyke dead, Jean dead, … If it’s going to be the Storm & Wolvie show again I’ll pass. Wait who am I kidding I’ll watch anything X-men related ;-). But if it’s real, I hope they give Angel a bigger part.
The cure didn’t work(Magneto tested his powers on the game chess.) Professor is alive(aftert the movie credits), I don’t believe the Phoenix is dead and I believe it can bring Cyclops back from the dead.
ahh good point, april fools is coming soon ahahah. But you know I have a feeling it could be done… they could take the X-men second coming approach where all the mutants are depowered or dead… and find new hope in a new mutant, kind of a thing haha

Assuming The Last Stand Is still In cannon Xavier woke up In post credits scene In his brain dead twin brother’s
body(this was explained on DVD Commantary)Magneto was begining to regain his powers at end of Last Stand so the cure was not as permeant as thought so very easy for Rogue and Mystique to regain their powers.

I’m over the moon excited about this news! Like many of you I’ve been waiting for them to announce not only 4 but 5! Ha!!!! So awesome! Can’t wait to see Halle, James, Anna, Patrick and all the cast return.
I’m pretty sure we will Storm leading the team at least at first. I also expect Phoenix will rise again and Cyclops is not really dead. I also hope to see Gambit enter into the picture.

I really hope they will leave Jean and Scott dead as they are… That’s why X3 rocked IMO. It was totally unpredictible, and that’s what makes the X-Men so special…
There will never be a SPIDERMAN without Peter Parker, there will never be an IRON MAN without Tony Stark, or a SUPERMAN without Clark Kent.
The X-MEN are exchangable. They can be killed off. That creates tension and drama.
Just focus on the new mutants in X4 and X5 and it will be great. No need to return to Cyclops and Jean.

To be honest i dont think this could happen. Ian Mckellen has already stated that he will not be returning to play magneto as he does not want to anymore, so if they do an x-men 4 and 5 which is a bad idea, they will do it without the magneto, cyclops jean and all those other mutants popular mutants that was killed by pheonix, i personally dont want to sit thier and watch wolverine and storm talking crap for a movie while all the other characters are jus used for plot devices, colossus iceman rogue didnt do anythign in the previous films and wont do anythign in these new filsm becasue theyve based these characters around wolverine every character in the film was based around wolverine which is why every character was one dimensional e.g. cyclops jus being their so that wolverine going after jean would make him seem more baddasss. I would rather they do prequels like first class and tell us new stories rather than continuing on fomr the atrocious x3
Magneto’s story is being told in First Class. I say leave him out of X4 completely and focus on another mutant.
Since this story first came out eailer this week, I hear that the story treatment for an X-Men 4 and X-Men 5 has been written by none other then Byran Singer, and that the studio is very pleased with it. If X-Men First Class is a hit at the box office, then a more informed announcement on X4 and X5 should follow shortly afterward. Perhaps even this summer.
But Anothny wouldn’t that make a NON XMEN movie?
I say make X4 a NEW XMEN film with the new mutants!
But they shyould bring the old cast back!

Just to take the conversation a little bit further, If we are indeed going to get an X-Men 4 and X-Men 5, it maybe that the cast will be a mix of those who appeared in the first three films, as well as the newer mutants that are being given their story with First Class and the soon to be two Wolverine Movies.
