LOGAN held its world premiere at the 67th Berlinale film festival in Berlin with director James Mangold, producers and stars Hugh Jackman, Patrick Stewart and Dafne Keen, among others. The film opened to amazing reviews, currently sitting at 97% fresh on Rotten Tomatoes with 59 reviews.
Many are calling this the Wolverine movie we deserve and Hugh Jackman wanted it no other way. While speaking with the New York Times, Jackman reinstated that he was very serious about making a great film because “There’s been a gnawing turmoil that I hadn’t really nailed it, fully — either story or performance or whatever. Every film I’ve ever done, I’ve had that gnawing doubt. But I have it way less in this one.”
Jackman wasn’t going to make just any film, as he had strict needs that needed to be met before deciding the film the finale.
“I was a pain in the ass for a lot of people with this movie because it mattered so much to me,” he told Fandango. “Even when we started writing this, and even when I asked James Mangold to come on board, I said ‘Dude, I don’t know if I’m gonna make it.’ Unless it’s exactly what I want, I prefer to not do it. I couldn’t live with it. So this is it.”

#Logan will be what you want and not what you expect all at once.

I thought LOGAN would be like a Western, but it's closer to Horror. One of the most violent films I've ever seen. Not for the kids AT ALL.

Get ready for X-23 to become a household name. I suspect we’ll see her again very soon based on how much she’ll explode after this #Logan

If #Logan doesn't receive awards buzz, I'd be surprised. Sure, there are "superheroes" in the movie, but it's not a superhero movie at all.

A lot of what you see today are noisy commercials for toys, but Logan? Man, Logan is what the old fellas would call a dynamite picture.

#Logan is great. Who else could play a role for 17 years and go out better than ever? (Both Jackman and Stewart)

Logan is good. I'm not sure I've seen a trilogy fall upwards in quality so steeply like that.

#Logan is an example of how the superhero genre can be shaped to fit different tastes, rather than adhering to a standardized template.

#Logan sometimes goes astray & the villains aren’t as memorable as they should be, but it redeems itself every time it falls short. #Logan

Logan is the perfect X-Men film we have been waiting for… heck… it is a perfect film period.
