Fox’s developing GIFTED series is finding itself an impressive cast. After Jamie Chung and Blair Redford were announced as Blink and Sam, respectively, Entertainment Weekly has learned that Stephen Moyer (True Blood) has been cast as Reed, an ambitious attorney trying to balance the demands of his job at the DA’s office with his responsibilities to his family.
Written by showrunner Matt Nix, the upcoming pilot, to be directed by X-Men film veteran Bryan Singer, begins production in March. It focuses on two ordinary parents who discover their children possess mutant powers. Forced to go on the run from a hostile government, the family joins up with an underground network of mutants and must fight to survive.
The show will be executive produced by Nix and Singer, along with longtime X-Men film producers Lauren Shuler Donner, Simon Kinberg and Marvel TV’s Jeph Loeb and Jim Chory.
