Evan Peters will return to the world of X-Men in next year’s DARK PHOENIX as Quicksilver. Last time we saw the mutant speedster, he was at Xavier’s School for Gifted Youngsters and holding onto the secret the he was the son of Magneto. While we’ll have to wait and see if that revelation is revealed to the master of magnetism, the actor did open up about where his character is (emotionally) this time out.
“He’s definitely a little older and more mature, a little more subdued” he teased to Screenrant during press roundsfor his upcoming release American Animals. ” [He’s] sort of trying to make a, not a name, but trying to do right by the X-Men and be a good guy and use his powers for good, so I think he’s on that path at the moment.”
In the comics, Quicksilver is a hot head with attitude and very much on the side of his father. It will be interesting to see if the character’s beliefs eventually come into conflict with Charles Xavier and the X-Men. By the sound of things, he’s making the decision to do good, but might his father sway him towards another path? We’ll have to wait and see.
Dark Phoenix arrives in theaters on February 14, 2019.
