A filing with the US Copyright Office discovered by Scarlet Witch Updates (@ScarletWitchUpd) has revealed the voice talent working on Marvel Studios’ upcoming X-MEN ’97 revival. Returning cast members from the original animated series will include Lenore Zann as Rogue, George Buza as Beast, Alison Sealy-Smith as Storm, and Cal Dodd as Wolverine. Newcomers include Ray Chase as Cyclops, Jennifer Hale as Jean Grey, Holly Chou as Jubilee, Christopher Britton as Mr. Sinister, AJ LoCascio as Gambit, Matthew Waterson as Magneto, and Gui Agustini as Roberto/Sunspot.
Included in the filing is a rough description of the premiere episode: The X-Men, a band of mutants who use their uncanny gifts to protect a world that hates and fears them, are challenged like never before and are forced to face a dangerous and unexpected new future. EP/showrunner Beau DeMayo told fans it shouldn’t be considered an official synopsis: “It’s frustrating the lengths some go to get information on the show,” he tweeted. “But, for grammar’s sake, let me clarify that this run-on sentence is not an official synopsis for the show.”
X-Men ’97 is expected to release in early 2024 on Disney+.
