The Hollywood Reporter reveals that Jennifer Garner is set to reprise her role as Elektra after a 20-year hiatus in Marvel Studios’ DEADPOOL 3, which is currently filming in the UK. Garner portrayed the character in 20th Century Fox’s Daredevil (2003) and her self-titled 2005 solo picture. While both films received mixed responses from audiences and critics alike (I’m a fan), Garner’s portrayal of the character was a highlight, and her dedication to performing the stunts, fight choreography, and training hardcore with her sai, earned her respect from many.
Garner and Ryan Reynolds previously worked together with director Shawn Levy on The Adam Project (2022) for Netflix.
Although not officially confirmed, the original X-MEN cast is expected to partake in the big screen festivities, and there are even rumors of Ben Affleck returning as Daredevil, and the Fantastic Four (2005) appearing, along with a bunch of other characters from the FoXverse. Clearly, DP3 is moving full speed ahead with the multiverse and consequences of time travel. Sounds familiar, doesn’t it? Surely this will perform better at the box office!
Deadpool 3 (or is it Deadpool and Wolverine?) arrives in theaters May 3, 2024. It stars Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool, Hugh Jackman as Wolverine, Emma Corrin, Matthew Macfadyen, Morena Baccarin as Vanessa, Stefan Kapičić as the voice of Colossus, Leslie Uggams as Blind Al, Karan Soni as Dopinder, Rob Delaney as Peter, Brianna Hildebrand as Negasonic Teenage Warhead, and Shioli Kutsuna as Yukio.
