Deadline reports that DEADPOOL 3 won’t be able to make its May 3, 2024 release date. Shocker! (Not really). The ongoing SAG-AFTRA strikes have lasted longer than many anticipated, which means a resolution might not be settled until just before or after the holidays. Since Hollywood essentially shuts down during this time, this means they won’t be able to assemble their crew together until 2024. Filming was about halfway complete before the WGA strike put a pause on all major productions.
CAPTAIN AMERICA: BRAVE NEW WORLD, which is dated for July 26, 2024, could possibly take that spot as filming is completed. Could they switch places? It’s possible, although a decision hasn’t been made yet. That said, it’s still a rush! If Deadpool and Wolverine can’t make Summer ’24, there are potential dates in November 2024 (DP3’s previous date), December 2024 (Thunderbolts), February 2025 (Blade), and May 2025 (Fantastic Four).
I don’t see Blade making that date!
Marvel Studios wanted Deadpool and the X-Men kicking off the Summer in bombastic fashion, but that (sadly) seems to be out of the possibility now, unless they push it back a full year.
