Marvel Studios’ Director of Visual Development, Andy Park, shared concept designs he created for Dr. Henry “Hank” McCoy aka Beast in THE MARVELS end credits sequence.
“This is one of the versions I did as I gave them a range of options (as we do) all while trying to channel the essence of his comic book origins,” wrote Park. “I’ve done a lot of designs through my years here at Marvel Studios… this one made the inner fanboy in me squeal just a bit.”
Fans were delighted to see the return of Kelsey Grammer in the role, now as an CG character. Despite the shift in visuals, it’s possible this is the same Beast from the FoXverse. In the comics, the character goes through various physical changes when experimenting on himself. Or maybe it’s a completely new variant? Maybe we’ll learn more in DEADPOOL 3.
Park also shared some alternate “concept design options” of Beast’s face, which he presented to director Nia DaCosta and producers.
The Marvels is now playing in theaters. The film stars Brie Larson, Teyonah Parris, Iman Vellani, Park Seo-joon, Zawe Ashton, and Samuel L. Jackson.
