the SUPER🦸 — James Gunn and Peter Safran’s DCU has a new Supergirl in Milly Alcock, who portrayed young Rhaenyra Targaryen in HBO’s House of the Dragon. Gunn took to Instagram to confirm the news revealed by The Wrap, writing: “This is accurate. Milly is a fantastically talented young actor, and I’m incredibly excited about her being a part of the DCU. Yes, I first became aware of her in House of the Dragon but I was blown away by her varied auditions and screen tests for #Supergirl. She embodies Kara as envisioned by Tom King, Bilquis Evely and Ana Nogueira.
Alcock will star in Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow (currently undated), based on the popular DC comics title by King and Evely. There’s no director attached just yet, but Nogueira is currently onboard to pen the screenplay. The character will likely make her debut in Warner Bros. Superman: Legacy, which flies into theaters on July 11, 2025.
