Which Villainous Character Is Emma Corrin Portraying In DEADPOOL & WOLVERINE?

A copyright filing for Marvel Studios’ Deadpool & Wolverine inadvertently reveals which character actor Emma Corrin will portray in the highly-anticipated film: Cassandra Nova. A number of fans learned this information from scoopers/leakers early on, but this is the first time it’s been confirmed from an official source.

A brief backstory on the character…

Cassandra Nova, created by Grant Morrison and Frank Quitely, made her first appearance in New X-Men #114 in 2001. The twin sister of Charles Xavier, her origin is a wild one. While still in the womb, she tried to kill her brother, resulting in a battle between babies that left with her being “locked away.” She managed to survive and emerges as a powerful entity. I really hope we see this played out in detail in the film.

Nova’s wild ambitions make her a true adversary, and she poses a significant threat to mutants and humanity alike. In the comics, she has engaged in schemes to eradicate mutants and orchestrate chaos on a global scale.

She has a long list of abilities: Telepathy, Telekinesis, DNA Duplication, Spontaneous cell regeneration, Intangibility, Cosmic fire and infernal control, Immunity to magic and mimicry, Premonition, Mind and body exchange, Mind Control, Soul gathering, and Dematerialization. [Wiki]
