Marvel Animation’s X-Men ’97 will premiere on March 20 on Disney+ with a 2-episode premiere, the company confirms. The 10-episode series is then expected to release weekly until May 15. A season 2 is already in the works.
Episode titles include: To Me, My X-Men (March 20), Mutant Liberation Begins (March 20), Fire Made Flesh (March 27), Motendo/Lifedeath – Part 1 (April 3), Remember It (April 10), Lifedeath – Part 2 (April 17), Bright Eyes (April 24), Tolerance is Extinction Part 1 (May 1), Tolerance is Extinction Part 2 (May 8) and Tolerance is Extinction Part 3 (May 15).
Executive producer and head writer Beau DeMayo joins producers Kevin Feige, Victoria Alonso, Louis D’Esposito, and Brad Winderbaum, with Jake Castorena serving as supervising director. South Korean animation house Studio Mir is animating the series.
The animated revival based off X-Men: The Animated Series revisits the iconic era of the 1990s as the X-Men, a band of mutants who use their uncanny gifts to protect a world that hates and fears them, are challenged like never before, forced to face a dangerous and unexpected new future.
The voice cast includes Cal Dodd as Wolverine, Alison Sealy-Smith as Storm, George Buza as Beast, Adrian Hough as Nightcrawler, Chris Britton as Mister Sinister, Lenore Zann as Rogue, Ray Chase as Cyclops, Jennifer Hale as Jean Grey, AJ LoCascio as Gambit, Holly Chou as Jubilee, JP Karliak as Morph, Isaac Robinson-Smith as Bishop, Matthew Waterson as Magneto, Ross Marquand as Professor Charles Xavier, Giu Augustini as Sunspot, Gil Birmingham as Forge, Eric Bauza as the Sentinels, Catherine Disheras as Dr. Valerie Cooper, Chris Potter as Cable, Lawrence Bayne as X-Cutioner, Ron Rubin as President Robert Edward Kelly, Alyson Court as Abscissa, and Theo James in an undisclosed role.
