Actor Kevin Durand, who portrayed the villainous Blob in X-Men Origins: Wolverine, recently told ComicBook that he was originally in talks to return for director James Mangold’s The Wolverine.
“I remember when we were doing the scenes in [Origins] Wolverine, he just kept saying ‘You’re going to end up with your own movie,’ and he really wanted me to come back and do the next Wolverine and The Blob was going to be the sumo wrestling champion in Japan when he goes to Tokyo but it never panned out.”
Although we missed out on that, the character (not Durand) did make a quick cameo in X-Men: Apocalypse losing a cage fight with Angel (Ben Hardy).
Durand added “I’m always game,” for potentially reprising the role in the future.
