Catching up on some things we missed over the weekend…
1). Ryan Reynolds revealed that Rob McElhenney will make a cameo appearance in Deadpool & Wolverine during a new episode of Welcome to Wrexham: “Because of my busy schedule, I had to invite my cochair, Rob McElhenney, to the set of Deadpool in London to discuss all things that are Wrexham,” said Reynolds. “Yes, I did have to promise him a role in the upcoming Deadpool film. Now, I can’t necessarily tell you which character Rob plays in Deadpool for fear of being shot down by the Marvel drone that follows me and my kids around.”
2). Claw machine arcade games are appearing in some movie theaters. The clever marketing promo for Marvel Studios’ upcoming release allows folks who pre-purchase tickets to get a free play, where they can win official “Best Friends” heart necklaces with Deadpool and Wolverine used in the film’s promotion.
3). A new one-minute promo is now playing during the pre-show in theaters worldwide, typically for R-rated fare. It shows Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman suited up at the Merc with a Mouth and the Dude with the Claws, respectively. Deadpool is talking Wolverine about Secret Wars when a phone rings. Logan, in a rage, cusses out the audience for using their phones, which in turn makes Deadpool eXcited in all the wrong ways.
