Marvel Studios’ Deadpool & Wolverine has secured a China release for a day and date worldwide premiere on July 26. This marks the first R-rated Deadpool film to acheieve this; the PG-13 cut of Deadpool 2 aka Once Upon A Deadpool was the only film to play there, theatrically. What changed? Who knows, but the addition of Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine could’ve helped, as Logan performed well in the country.
This is a big deal for the box office prospects on a global scale. The Shawn Levy film is already eXpected a major opening weekend domestically, which could potentially reach north of $200 million. If that’s the case, this will break all sorts of records – a feat only the merc with a mouth and the dude with the claws could acheive.
