A new spot for Deadpool & Wolverine features a spoiler, as the film nears its July 26 release date. Watch at your own risk as it features a number of new characters.
Deadpool appears in new promo commercials with Jack from Jack in the Box. Marvel’s merc with a mouth has taken over the fast food restaurant, with new food items such as mini chimi bang bangs (chimichangas – a Wade Wilson favorite) and waffle sticks, including branded food packaging artwork.
A new still of Emma Corrin as the film’s antagonist: Cassandra Nova has been released. Corrin revealed that she’s playing the role as a charming, seemingly friendly character that can become deadly and chaotic without warning.
Speaking with New York Times, Hugh Jackman was asked how much creative control he had for his portrayal of Wolverine over the years as an actor.
“Certainly not at the beginning, because X-Men was also my first film in America,” he said. “I was very much at the mercy of everyone else: ‘OK, we’re doing a sequel, great. Oh, you’ve written a script? Let’s have a look.’ I think it crystallized by the time I got to Logan, where I was very much involved. You know, I had a two-picture deal [for the first two Wolverine spinoffs], so I had really no choice for the first two.
“They offered a three-picture deal, and my agent rang me and said, ‘I’ve got them down to a two-picture deal.’ I said, ‘What? Why did you do that?’ And he laughed. He goes, ‘You’ll work it out eventually.’
“Three movies, that’s three jobs!” But from that moment on, I had a choice whether to do it or not. So for me, it was always about is there a reason to tell this story? By Logan, that’s why I said, ‘I’m out, I think I’ve reached the end of what I have to offer.’ And then it was seeing the first Deadpool in a screening room that had me going, ‘Oh, hang on. There’s another reason.'”
