Deadpool & Wolverine premiere week continues as we now have a look at the Rotten Tomatoes and Metacritic scores for director Shawn Levy’s Marvel Studio blockbuster. As of this posting, the movie has a 81% average from 176 critics on RT. This FRESH score currently places it below Deadpool (85%) and Deadpool 2 (84%). On Metacritic, the film received a 55 from 48 critic reviews, meaning reception was mixed to average.
Cinemascore will be doing in-person polling at movie theaters starting on Friday. Both previous Deadpool entries earned a grade of A. D&W will want to match that grade or at least get a B+ to be considered a success in the industry. Note: If you’re asked to rate the film on a tablet as you’re leaving the auditorium, stop and take a few minutes to participate!
Taking a look at the box office, Deadline reports a current range of $160M-$170M in the USA and $180M-$190M internationally, placing it around $340M-$360M globally. This would make it the biggest R-rated film opening of all time.
