Jason Flemyng Was Approached For Azazel Return In DEADPOOL & WOLVERINE

It was great seeing the return of classic X-Men stars Hugh Jackman, Tyler Mane and Aaron Stanford in Marvel Studios’ Deadpool & Wolverine, but there were hopes for other actors to return. As previously reported, Vinnie Jones turned down an offer to return as the Juggernaut. The character still appeared, along with Psylocke, Deathstrike, Toad, Callisto and Azazel, portrayed by stunt actors.

X-Men: First Class actor Jason Flemyng has come out to share a similar experience about Azazel, the red-skinned villainous teleporter. “It was the same thing, he said, speaking with Josh Wilding of Comic Book Movie. “The same things happened. Basically, they came to us and were like, ‘Would you like to do it? It’s three days fighting, two days makeup tests. Basically, you’ll be hired as a stunt performer.’ Listen, if I needed a couple of grand I’d have done it, but I didn’t at the time so I was like, ‘You know what, let a stunt man do it and they’ll do a good job. It’s fine.” 

Flemyng stars in The Stoic, a film which follows a group of mercenary leaders in a country retreat after pulling off their raid on a drugs gang. Things take a turn for the worse after they raise the attentions of ‘The Stoic’ (Scott Wright), a man from an ancient clan of smugglers.
