Deadpool & Wolverine star Ryan Reynolds previously revealed that Disney asked him to remove a joke from the film, a quote that might’ve taken things a tad too far for the company. Revealed in the film’s original screenplay, after Deadpool says “There’s four? Wait, is it Magneto?? Dear sweet god in heaven let it be Magneto with HIM–” he’s quickly told no, and gives a vulgar response re: the lack of more X-Men.
“F**K!” he says. “What we can’t even afford one more X-Man? Disney is so cheap. I can barely breathe with all this Mickey Mouse c**k in my throat.”
It’s not surprising Disney wanted this removed, but it’s perfectly in tone with Deadpool’s humor. Many fans also agree…where were the other X-Men? Even if they were M.I.A, the film described moments that audiences would’ve rather seen played out by remaining original cast members Halle Berry, Famke Janssen, James Marsden and Anna Paquin.
Fingers crossed Marvel Studios puts up the money for them to appear in Avengers: Doomsday and/or Secret Wars.
