Wicked superstar Cynthia Erivo told the National Board of Review that she wants to put her name in Marvel Studios’ suggestion box for the highly-coveted role of weather-manipulator mutant Storm.
“I really want to play Storm,” she said. “I know it sounds frivolous, but I think we haven’t uncovered how grand she is, and all of that inner turmoil that she has. I think there’s a world in which we could do something like that.”
With the first drafts of the X-Men reboot currently being penned by Michael Lesslie, the reboot is eXpected to be with us in 2027 or 2028 at the latest. Films like Avengers: Doomsday (2026) and Avengers: Secret Wars (2027) could find a number of mutants from across the multiverse making their MCU debuts before then.
The role was previously portrayed by Academy Award-winning actor Halle Berry, and rising actor Alexandra Shipp.
