Scoop Jeff Sneider has dropped another rumor (emphasis on rumor) about potential castings for Marvel Studios’ upcoming X-Men reboot. Appearing on The Hot Mic, Sneider said that 36yo Jesse Plemons (Civil War) might be on Kevin Feige and team’s radar to take on the role of Dr. Henry “Hank” McCoy aka Beast. Keep in mind, Sneider mentioned “these could all just be prototype [castings], a wish list of sorts, and in no way indicates official talks taking place.
Begins at 34:44 minute mark…
We last saw Beast in the credits scenes for The Marvels. Voiced and modeled after OG actor Kelsey Grammer, the good doctor was seen in a lab in the underbelly of Xavier’s School for Gifted Youngsters, aiding Binary (Lashana Lynch), and Monica Rambeau (Teyonah Parris), who just became stranded in their universe.
Sneider has previously mentioned 22yo Sadie Sink (Strangers Things) for Jean Grey, 28yo Harris Dickinson (Babygirl) for Cyclops, and 15yo Julia Butters (American Housewife) for Shadowcat as potential castings.
Marvel Studios’ X-Men is expected to release in 2027 or 2028, with a number of mutants rumored to appear in Avengers: Doomsday (2026) and Avengers: Secret Wars (2027).
