The long-awaited trailer for Red Sonja (2025) has officially debuted, giving us our first look at Matilda Lutz’s take on the iconic warrior. Directed by M.J. Bassett, the trailer wastes no time diving into sword-and-sorcery action, showcasing Sonja’s transformation from gladiator to warrior.
Captured. Chained. Forced to fight for survival. Red Sonja must battle her way through the blood-soaked pits of a tyrant’s empire and rally an army of outcasts to reclaim her freedom and take down Dragan and his ruthless bride, Dark Annisia.
The cast will attend a Comic-Con panel in San Diego at 5:30 pm PT on July 24th in Ballroom 20, where they will discuss bringing the comic book icon to life.
This reboot marks a reimagining of the classic character, aiming to modernize her image while staying true to her roots. Backed by a cast that includes Robert Sheehan, Wallis Day, and Martyn Ford, the film is set to hit theaters on August 15, 2025, with a digital release to follow on August 29.
