A third in-theaters teaser clocking in at 1 minute and 10 seconds for Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Doomsday is expected to debut soon with Avatar: Fire and Ash, likely next Thursday to ring in the new year. Marvel’s marketing strategy started with a teaser featuring Chris Evans’ return as Steve Rogers. Another important character is the focus of this week’s trailer. While Marvel has yet to confirm anything, the most intriguing part is the neXt apparent focus…
Details are scarce (as they usually are with Marvel), but whispers suggest the preview could spotlight the X-Men side of things with a few familiar faces and a small dose of action. Adding to the excitement, there’s also talk that the X-Mansion itself could make a brief but meaningful appearance.
Up to now, mutants have been introduced gradually and often indirectly within the MCU. A teaser that openly centers on iconic X-Men characters, portrayed by particularly legendary actors (🤫) suggests that Marvel is ready to bring mutants into the grander spotlight more boldly than many expect.
Of course, it’s important to stress that all of this remains in rumor territory until it officially drops. Marvel is famously tight-lipped and doesn’t make mention of the teasers until they’re ready to be released online after a short theaters-exclusive window. Still, the idea of an X-Men–focused preview attached to Avatar: Fire and Ash for New Year’s is something that will get any X-fan’s blood pumping.
Avengers: Doomsday arrives in theaters on December 18, 2026.
