As anticipation continues to build for director Matt Reeves’ The Batman Part II, writer Mattson Tomlin opened up (via X) about the dedication and passion fueling the next chapter of Gotham’s Dark Knight. The filmmaker recently reflected on the intense creative process behind the screenplay, emphasizing just how meaningful the project has been for him and the team.
“We worked exceptionally hard to tell a story worthy of the character,” he wrote. “Something that feels new and dangerous. The bar couldn’t be higher. Looking forward to people seeing it and being able to talk about it at length. Can’t begin to describe what this film means to me.”
Tomlin’s heartfelt statement suggests a bold and daring direction for Gotham’s protector. Production is soon nearing a start as the team gears up for principal photography this April ahead of its scheduled October 1, 2017 theatrical release.
