Mutant fandom are in for a major celebration as The Uncanny Experience takes over Minneapolis, bringing together legendary creators and passionate fans for a one-of-a-kind event. Among the headline guests are Eric Lewald and Julia Lewald, the visionary duo behind X-Men: The Animated Series. Their work helped define Marvel animation in the 1990s and played a pivotal role in shaping the modern X-Men fanbase, and attendees will be able to meet them in person during their scheduled appearances on September 12 and 13, 2026.

Their influence continues to be felt today, as both are currently serving as executive producers on X-Men ’97 Season 2. During their time at the convention, fans will have the opportunity to connect with them at the Mutant Market, where they will be signing copies of their book, X-Men: The Art & Making of an Animated Series. They will also take part in a panel session, offering a deep look into their creative process and sharing behind-the-scenes stories from their experience bringing Marvel’s iconic mutants to television.

The convention will also spotlight standout cosplay talent, including Jordan Blaza Olsen, who will appear as Polaris. Known for her magnetic powers and signature green look, Polaris will be brought to life through Olsen’s detailed and dynamic portrayal. Olsen is also widely recognized as a leader in the cosplay community and serves as co-founder of the Hellfire Gala Walk, a creative showcase inspired by the high-fashion aesthetic of Marvel’s Hellfire Gala.

Beyond the convention itself, The Uncanny Experience is expanding its reach with a special off-site panel at WonderCon 2026 on Saturday, March 28, from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM PDT in Room North 100B. The panel will feature a diverse lineup of industry professionals, including Laura Post, Crystal Lee, Steven E. Gordon, Collin Kelly, Jackson Lanzing, and Gui Agustini. Moderated by Chris Riley and Chandler Poling, the discussion will explore the impact of the X-Men across media, while also teasing surprises and offering exclusive giveaways.
