The speculation surrounding Marvel Studios’ future plans for the X-Men continues to grow, thanks to comments from Cosmic Circus insider Alex Perez during a recent Q&A session.
While answering fan questions, Perez discussed several actors he has heard have been in talks with Marvel Studios over the years. Importantly, Perez did not connect any of these names directly to Marvel’s upcoming X-Men reboot or any specific Marvel projects. However, given the studio’s ongoing search for talent and the anticipation surrounding the arrival of the X-Men in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, fans have already begun theorizing about which mutant characters these actors could potentially portray.
Among the names Perez mentioned was Elle Fanning, who has long been a popular fan-casting choice for several Marvel roles. According to Perez, Fanning has had multiple conversations with Marvel Studios in the past and remains on the company’s radar.

Perez also listed several other actors he has heard have been discussed internally, including Lakeith Stanfield, Damson Idris, John David Washington, Samara Weaving, Jodie Turner-Smith, Teyana Taylor, Brenton Thwaites, Jacob Elordi, and Nicolas Galitzine,” …just to sort of name a few that I’ve had on a list for a while,” he wrote. “Not that they’re confirmed for any roles, might I add, just some folks they’ve spoken to.”
As expected, the comments quickly sparked discussion across social media. Fans have begun matching the actors with various X-Men characters, with some suggesting Fanning as Jean Grey (if it isn’t Sadie Sink’s role) or Emma Frost, while others have speculated about roles such as Cyclops, Storm, Gambit, Rogue, Bishop, and Mister Sinister for the other actors mentioned.
For now, however, it’s important to remember that these names remain firmly in the rumor category. None of the actors are confirmed for any Marvel role, and conversations between studios and performers happen regularly without necessarily leading to casting decisions.
Still, with Marvel Studios actively developing its mutant future, every new casting rumor is sure to gain excitement for those of us eagerly awaiting official announcements regarding the MCU’s X-Men.
