Sony Pictures has released the final trailer for Spider-Man: Brand New Day, and with the film swinging into theaters next week, anticipation has reached an all-time high.
It’s a BRAND NEW DAY for Peter Parker. Fighting crime full-time as Spider-Man in a world that doesn’t remember him—and the pressure of seeing his old friends move on without him—sparks a change in Peter he may not have the power to control. But that transformation might also be the only thing that can stop a shocking new threat to the city and those he loves – a powerful villain no one can even see.
Rather than simply showcasing explosive action and new threats, the trailer takes a heartfelt look back at Tom Holland’s journey across his previous Spider-Man trilogy from Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios. It’s a reminder of just how much Peter Parker has endured, from learning what it means to be a hero to making the heartbreaking sacrifices that have defined his story. At the same time, the new footage offers plenty of exciting glimpses of what’s ahead without giving too much away.
Visually, Brand New Day looks fantastic. The action sequences appear bigger than ever while somehow still maintaining the grounded, neighborhood feel that fans have been asking for. Director Destin Daniel Cretton (Shang Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings) continues to demonstrate why he was the right choice to helm this next chapter, balancing heartfelt moments with incredible superhero spectacle. Based on everything shown so far, he seems to have a strong understanding of what makes Spider-Man such an enjoyable character to watch.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day arrives in theaters on July 31.
