Samara Weaving Claims Her Mutancy And Shares Comic Book Research For X-MEN Role

Samara Weaving is getting into the vibe of joining Marvel Studios’ highly-anticipated X-Men reboot. Posting photos on social media after a whirlwind casting announcement at D23, the actress simple wrote “Mutant” to signify her arrival into the MCU.

Weaving also shared some of the comic books she’s researching for ideas on how to best bring the telepath to the big screen. “Don’t read into it,” she wrote, likely a signal to fans to not create theories about the specific issues she’s reading.

Directed by Jake Schreier, Marvel Studios’ X-Men will arrive in theaters on May 5, 2028.
