X-Men Films And Superhero Entertainment News — Trailers, Industry Coverage, Reviews, Original Comics: SUPER (2025-), Mutant Fandom And More

With production and casting details surrounding Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars continuing to generate speculation, fans have been digging through every available source for clues about who might appear in the two massive crossover films. One particularly interesting source of potential information is IMDb, where cast and crew listings can sometimes include performers connected to actors and characters who have yet to be officially announced.

Of course, there is an important disclaimer: IMDb listings are user-editable and can contain incorrect, incomplete, or speculative information. They should not be treated as official confirmation from Marvel Studios. However, that doesn’t necessarily mean every unusual listing can simply be dismissed. In the past, stunt performer listings have occasionally appeared before Marvel officially announced an actor’s involvement, giving an early glimpse at casting that was eventually confirmed.

That makes the current listings for Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars particularly intriguing!

Spoilers? 🧂 🤔

Among the names currently appearing in connection with the films are stunt doubles associated with several actors who have not been officially announced as part of the cast. These include performers connected to Oscar Isaac, Halle Berry, Benedict Cumberbatch, Charlize Theron, Sophia Di Martino, Teyonah Parris, Dafne Keen, Elizabeth Olsen and Iman Vellani.

Naturally, several of these names immediately raise questions.

Isaac’s inclusion could potentially point toward Moon Knight, although he has also portrayed Apocalypse in the X-Men films. Berry’s listing is particularly interesting given the long-running speculation surrounding her potential return as Storm. Cumberbatch and Theron points toward a Doctor Strange and Clea appearance, while Di Martino could indicate the return of Sylvie from Loki.

Parris’ listing has us wondering about Monica Rambeau and her place in the X-Men universe as seen at the end of The Marvels, while Keen’s potential involvement would once again raise questions about Laura Kinney/X-23 following her appearance in Deadpool & Wolverine. Olsen’s listing has obvious implications for Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch, and Vellani’s could potentially signal another appearance by Kamala Khan/Ms. Marvel.

And then there is one particularly unexpected name…

A stunt double is reportedly listed for Donald Glover in connection with Avengers: Secret Wars. Glover previously appeared in the MCU as Aaron Davis, better known as Miles Morales’ uncle, the Prowler, in Spider-Man: Homecoming. He also appeared (in live-action) in the animated Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. Whether this listing actually points toward Glover returning as Prowler or another character is impossible to say at this point.

The interesting thing about these listings isn’t necessarily that they confirm anything. Rather, it’s that stunt performer information can sometimes be more revealing than conventional cast listings.

There is already a good example of why these listings shouldn’t automatically be dismissed.

Before Marvel Studios officially confirmed Dafne Keen’s return as Laura Kinney/X-23 in Deadpool & Wolverine, her stunt double was listed in connection with the production. Keen’s eventual appearance demonstrated that, at least in that case, an IMDb stunt listing was connected to something real before the studio made the information official.

That doesn’t mean history will repeat itself with Doomsday or Secret Wars. Once again, IMDb is not an official Marvel Studios casting database, and listings can be edited by users, contain mistakes, or reflect information that ultimately doesn’t make it into the finished production.

For now, the best approach is to take these names with a grain of salt until proven otherwise.
