Paramount Pictures has released a new featurette for its upcoming Street Fighter movie, highlighting the process of translating some of the video game franchise’s most recognizable moves from the arcade to the big screen. The special look showcases how signature attacks are being recreated for live-action.
Set in 1993, the film follows estranged fighters Ryu (Andrew Koji) and Ken Masters (Noah Centineo), who are brought back into the fight after Chun-Li (Callina Liang) recruits them for the next World Warrior Tournament. What begins as a massive martial arts competition soon becomes something more dangerous when a conspiracy puts the fighters on a collision course, forcing Ryu and Ken to confront both one another and their respective pasts.
Directed by Kitao Sakurai, Street Fighter charges into theaters on October 16.
