Watch a thrilling new spot for Marvel Television’s upcoming VisionQuest series. The show brings Paul Bettany back as Vision and serves as the long-awaited continuation of his story following the events of WandaVision. The series is also being positioned as the third and final chapter of what Marvel has described as the “Wanda trilogy,” following WandaVision and Agatha All Along.

At the center of VisionQuest is White Vision, the synthezoid created by S.W.O.R.D. Although he received the original Vision’s memories during his confrontation with the Hex-created Vision, he didn’t inherit the emotional experiences that came with those memories. The new series will explore his struggle to understand who he is, what makes him human, and whether he can truly become the Vision he once was.

The series also promises to expand Vision’s story beyond his relationship with Wanda. James Spader is returning as Ultron, marking the character’s first major MCU appearance since Avengers: Age of Ultron. Their reunion could give the series a fascinating father-and-son dynamic, with Vision confronting the artificial intelligence responsible for creating him. Paul Bettany has previously described the story as exploring fathers, sons and intergenerational trauma.

The announced ensemble cast includes Ruaridh Mollica as Tommy Maximoff, Todd Stashwick as Paladin, T’Nia Miller as Jocasta (who makes an exciting debut in the spot), Emily Hampshire as E.D.I.T.H., Orla Brady, Henry Lewis, Jonathan Sayer and James D’Arcy, who returns as J.A.R.V.I.S.

VisionQuest is created and led by Terry Matalas, best known for his work on Star Trek: Picard. Matalas serves as showrunner and executive producer, with Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige and Jac Schaeffer among the project’s executive producers. The series is produced under the Marvel Television banner.

VisionQuest premieres October 14 on Disney+.
