Superhero Hype! caught up with X-MEN: FIRST CLASS 2 writer and producer Simon Kinberg at this weekend’s San Diego Comic Con; he gave some minor details about the developing film, which begins filming early next year for a July 18, 2014 release.
“I’m not allowed to even breathe a word of any sort of details,” says Kinberg, “but I can say that the things that we thought worked well in ‘First Class’ were the characters, especially the four or five lead characters. The Charles-Erik relationship was obviously incredibly resonant and James and Michael did such an amazing job as those characters. Jen Lawrence and Nick Hoult, that’s a really interesting relationship between Raven and Hank, so we’re really going to be focusing on character and personally I really liked the period aspect of ‘First Class’ so we may well do that.”
Kinberg says the “X-Men” crew are very aware of continuity issues with the original trilogy…
“…we are constructing it with ‘X1-3’ in mind. There may be some places where we don’t line up perfectly but it is something we are very aware of and want to be respectful of and the people who are responsible for those movies–Lauren Schuler-Donner, Bryan Singer and Fox–are all involved.”

They should come up with a great idea for the sequel.
The Singerverse as he said it is only X-Men 1 and 2, I think we would all like to forget Last Stand and the idiot who made it.
Wait….So that basically kicks the Azazel-Raven relationship then.
And I read that Jennifer wants to introduce Nigtcrawler…
Oh well, as long as they are following the original trilogy, im good 🙂
He said really nothing. You have to laugh at the we may follow the perod route again line. One minute he says they are following the singerverse and then says X1-3.That Is a big difference. The Singerverse Involves X-Men and X2 not the Last Stand. And any interaction between Xavier and Magneto and also Mystique and beast are going to be limited.
And why the hell didn’t they ask him about Days of future Past.
X3 writer Zak Penn should not be allowed on this or any Marvel Film again. He sucks beans.
