THE WOLVERINE director James Mangold and star Hugh Jackman tweeted photos from their ongoing time in the land of the rising sun! Mangold posted a pic of actresses Tao Okamoto and Rila Fukushima having a laugh, while riding the Shinkansen bullet train. Okamoto plays Logan’s love interest Mariko, daughter of Shingen Yashida. Fukushima plays Yukio, a ninja assassin who forms a bond with Wolverine.
Mangold tweeted, “Wonderful actresses and two of my favorite people.”
Jackman tweeted, “Was in Kyoto today at emperors gate at temple of 1000 golden Buddhas!”
In addition to the above trio, the cast includes Will Yun Lee as Silver Samurai, Hiroyuki Sanada as Shingen Yashida, Hal Yamanouchi as Yashida, Brian Tee as Minister of Justice Norubo Mori, and Olympic silver medalist, Naoya Ogawa in an unspecified minor role.
